Art by Gary Hamer Rees

We’re proud to display at Llanerch the artworks of the renowned Welsh oil painter, Gary Hamer Rees.

The art captures the natural beauty of Wales and the charm of its people.

Gary’s landscapes and portraits depict the impact of the coal mining industry on the working and social lives of the people of the South Wales Coalfield during the mid-20th century. His work is greatly influenced by his upbringing in close proximity to both heavy industry and rugged rural landscapes.
